From unique boutiques and premier shopping
malls to hip new shopping districts and specialty food stores, there's an endless array of shopping options in the Milwaukee Region.
The region features six
regional shopping malls, three major outlet malls, a variety of unique
shopping districts and hundreds of specialty shops. Milwaukee is also
home to two major department store chains, Kohl's, one of the
fastest-growing and successful department store chains in the nation,
and Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., which operates department stores under the
Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman,
Herberger's and Younkers names.
Each of the six regional
shopping malls is either undergoing significant renovations or has
recently been updated. Bayshore Town Center just doubled its size to
1.2 million square feet and converted to an open-air mall. Brookfield
Square is expanding by 35,000 square feet and adding a fourth anchor.
Mayfair Mall recently added 100,000 square feet. In the western Waukesha County community of Oconomowoc, plans are underway for the Pabst Farms Town Centre, a 110-acre, regional open-air shopping and entertainment complex with more than 120 stores.
