Johnson Controls, Northwestern Mutual Again Tops in Fortune
List

Johnson Controls Inc. and
Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. both continued a string of taking top
honors in their industries on Fortune magazine's list of
Glendale-based Johnson Controls
(NYSE: JCI) rated ahead of all the others in motor vehicle parts category of
the report for the second-consecutive year. Northwestern Mutual led the list of
life/health insurers for the 24th straight year, ever since Fortune began the
list.
The companies were two of the five
Wisconsin-based companies on the 2007 list to rank highly in their respective
industries. Glendale-based Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN) and WPS Resources Corp.,
The Fortune report polled more
10,000 executives and financial analysts and asked them to rank companies in
their own industries. The winners were selected from the 600 largest companies.
Companies were rated on management
quality, product quality, innovativeness, investment value, financial
soundness, people management, social responsibility and use of assets.
