Advent Tool & Manufacturing Inc., a manufacturer of high-precision tooling products, said Wednesday it will move its headquarters from Antioch, Illinois, to Salem Lakes in Kenosha County.
Founded in 1974, Advent Tool & Manufacturing services a variety of industries including transportation, defense, energy and telecommunications. It will lease about half of a new 50,000-square-foot facility in the new Salem Industrial Park.
The company expects to employ 23 workers, primarily machinists, in Salem Lakes by 2022.
“The state (of Wisconsin) is an ideal location for our business, providing a stable and business-friendly environment to support our growth plans,” Advent owner and president Jim Hartford said in a press release.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. authorized up to $100,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years. These credits are contingent on the number of jobs created in that time period.
Advent is the second company to relocate to the Salem Industrial Park. Vonco Products LLC relocated in 2017. Twenty-six acres are already developed or under development within the park with an additional 40 for future projects.
“The Salem Business Park was developed with companies like Advent in mind,” Heather Wessling Grosz, vice president of the Kenosha Area Business Alliance, said in the release. “This new facility will be a showcase for customers and a safer, more productive environment for employees.”
The business alliance assisted in recruiting Advent to Wisconsin along with Milwaukee 7 regional economic development organization.
