Illinois food distributor Greco and Sons will soon start work on the fourth building in the OakView Business Park in Oak Creek after buying nearly 11 acres for the project.
The company, which already has a location in Waukesha, gained approvals in spring for a 118,000-square-foot food distribution facility with about 106 workers. Based in Bartlett, Ill., Greco and Sons distributes Italian foods, produce and frozen foods to restaurants, hotels and grocery stores.
An affiliate of the company bought 10.7 acres for its Oak Creek building for $1.13 million, according to state records. Milwaukee-based Wispark LLC, which is developing the OakView Business Park at South Howell Avenue and West Oakwood Road, sold the land.
Greco and Sons would have the fourth building in the business park.
The Dickman Co. of Milwaukee recently completed a 133,000-square-foot speculative building in the park and is seeking tenants, said Jeff Hoffman, principal for Cushman & Wakefield/The Boerke Co. Inc. Hoffman is marketing the OakView Business Park land to buyers.
Pet food maker Stella & Chewy’s was the first buyer in the business park in June 2014. Ad-Tech Medical Instrument Corp. also built a facility there. About a third of OakView’s 141 useable acres have sold thus far, Hoffman said, and more companies are eyeing OakView for their operations.
“We’ve got a very robust pipeline of projects that are considering that area right now,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman declined to comment on the Greco and Sons project. A Greco and Sons representative was not available for comment.
