Located just north of Milwaukee, Ozaukee County has prestigious communities offering prime commercial sites, business and industrial parks and downtown locations. Access to the I-43 corridor has sparked commercial and industrial development in Mequon, Grafton, Saukville and Belgium. Ozaukee County offers the rural charm of Fredonia and Waubeka (the birthplace of Flag Day), 25 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and two of the oldest and most charming communities in the region - Port Washington and Cedarburg. Both attract thousands of tourists every year, Port Washington for its Fish Day celebration of the city's maritime history, and Cedarburg for its annual Strawberry Festival. The county also is home to Concordia University and the north campus of the Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Major outdoor attractions include the Port Washington Marina, Harrington Beach State Park and the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, a 30-mile paved path that spans the entire length of Ozaukee County.
